ergogo is here to help protect and preserve your freedom to move.
Our team of experts is passionate about providing innovative solutions that support the life you choose to live.
We opened in 2003 as ‘SoleMate’, supplying footwear and ergonomic solutions to people who spent a lot of time on their feet. As well as providing premium products, we also provided consultancy advice. Many of our clients worked in the healthcare, hospitality, processing and service industries.
As demand for our products grew, so did the range and diversity of the people we supported. Local contracts grew into nationwide and global ones, which we managed from our base in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.
Today, we are still in the same location but have undergone a name change. ergogo evolved from the wealth of knowledge and expertise gained in those early days. Now we provide quality, innovative products and advice to help people retain optimum movement from head to toe. We also support and protect clients in all aspects of their lives. At work, play and home.
At ergogo, we like to think of ourselves as solutionists. We work hard to help protect and preserve your freedom to move so that despite what others may say, you can continue to do the things you love.
We provide the right solutions and the right advice if you are:
From back pain relief and knee pads to anti-vibration gloves, foot pain relief, and even biodegradable footwear – our range is truly diverse. Hundreds of products, stocked by us because they are the best in their class. In fact, our own BackFriend range is so effective that it may be funded by ACC (Simple Equipment List Item), NDIS or health insurance.
And with more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare space, we understand what you are talking about – whether you are a health professional or a client. Our expertise covers a wide range of specialist areas, including hand injuries, chronic pain, neurology, spinal and brain injuries, along with work-based rehabilitation and ergonomics.
We research and test every one of our products before adding it to the ergogo range. Amongst health professionals and our other valued clients, ergogo has a reputation for quality, integrity and performance. So if we recommend a product, rest assured it has met our stringent standards.
ergogo is the sole Australian and New Zealand distributor for many leading international brands. It is a privilege that we take seriously. We are also the only company in Australasia to specialise in anti-vibration gloves, posture cushions and BackFriend.
The team at ergogo is passionate about helping you overcome the barriers that restrict you from living your life, your way. So if the right product doesn’t exist, we will design and manufacture it to the highest standards. This is how ergogo’s posture cushion range was born.
Sometimes, an existing product needs modifying. We did this with Impacto’s Upguard ergonomic neck support.
Our innovative designs and solutions draw on decades of experience spent supporting rehabilitation and wellness. It’s a unique skill base that enables our experts to create a tailor-made solution just for you.

For every $50 spent on our products, ergogo donates $1 to Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue & Protection (LCRP) in West Africa. Founded by wildlife veterinarian, Jimmy Desmond, and his wife Jenny, the organisation cares for orphaned chimpanzees. Usually, their mothers have been killed by poachers for the bushmeat, or the orphans have been rescued from the illegal pet trade.
LCRP partners with many well-respected, international wildlife conservation organisations to arrest and charge traffickers and poachers. These organisations include The Jane Goodall Institute, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, EcoHealth Alliance and the Smithsonian Institute.
LCRP provides an orphanage as well as a sanctuary. A dedicated team cares for the orphans, who often arrive traumatised, and need round-the-clock care. As they get older, they are carefully rehabilitated, so they learn to thrive with other chimpanzees in LCRP’s 100-acre forest sanctuary. LCRP continues to work with the Liberian government, international organisations and locals on this and other wildlife protection and conservation initiatives.
By purchasing an ergogo product, you are helping LCRP to save chimpanzees in need and keep wild chimpanzees wild.
You can also support LCRP by adopting a chimp. Meet JoJo, the gorgeous orphan ergogo has adopted.
